After three years of side-eyeing the whole 'mustang roll' technique for trimming, a stubborn quarter horse in Bend finally made me see its worth.

I was convinced it was just a flashy social media move until that horse, who'd fight any normal stand, stood perfectly still for a full trim after we did the roll first, so has anyone else had a specific horse completely change their mind on a method?

Flashy social media move" was my exact thought too. Seems like a lot of fuss for just getting a horse to stand still.

You know it's not just standing still, right? That's a full on show pose. Takes way more training than it looks like.

What gets me is the mental control. That horse has to ignore everything, from flies to sudden noises, while holding that perfect frame. It's like a living statue, and that kind of focus from the animal is the real skill, not just the pose itself.
