That time a viewer called out my shaky cam trick

I used to film all my DIY repair videos with a handheld phone because I thought it made them feel 'real' and less edited. Then some commenter said the shake made it look like I was hiding something or faking the result, which stung but was probably true. Anyone else get called out for a filming choice that made people doubt your content?

Did you ever go back and watch your old videos with that comment in mind, @the_sandra? I had a similar thing where a viewer called out my background music once and I realized it was drowning out the sound of the drill, which made me wonder if anybody actually finished watching those early clips.

I had a similar thing happen with a video I did on fixing a stuck garbage disposal. Someone in the comments said they couldn't hear the humming noise over my voice and I went back and watched it and they were totally right lol. Now I always check the audio levels before uploading, especially on those close-up shots where the microphone picks up everything weird.

Kinda feels like reading into it a bit much. A little camera shake never stopped anyone from watching a good repair video. Give that commenter way less power over you.
