Spent $80 on a deepfake detection tool and it actually caught me slipping

I used to think those paid AI detection tools were a total scam. But last week I tried out this one called Sensity after a buddy kept pushing it. Ended up feeding it a viral clip of a politician stumbling over words, something I totally believed was real. The thing flagged it as 94% likely manipulated and broke down the audio artifacts. Makes me wonder how many other videos I've been fooled by lately. Anyone else ever run a test on a clip you thought was obvious and got proven wrong?

I heard some news anchor got fooled by a deepfake of their own voice last month.

Friend of mine @emery19 nearly fell for that same trick last week.

Not sure the deepfake voice thing is as scary as people make it sound. In my experience, the tech is still clunky and easy to spot if you're listening closely. Emery probably just caught a badly-dubbed clip on YouTube rather than something that could really trick a pro. Your mileage may vary, but I'd need to hear it to believe it's that convincing.
