My buddy at the print shop made me rethink those fake news posts I keep sharing

I was over at Kinko's on 4th street last Tuesday waiting for a poster to finish. The guy running the counter, Dave, pointed at my phone and asked what I was scrolling through. I told him it was a story about some politician getting caught in a lie. He just laughed and said 'you know that same picture was used in three different hoaxes last year, right?' I actually looked it up and he was dead on. The image was from 2019, had nothing to do with the current claim. Made me feel like an idiot for almost hitting share. Anyone else ever get called out like that in person by someone who deals with printed graphics all day?

That reminds me of my uncle who swore he saw Bigfoot until someone zoomed in and it turned out to be a guy in a gorilla suit.

Hold on, sometimes a picture is just a picture and the story still holds up without it.

My buddy Stan got called out at a bar once, dude next to him was a graphic designer and pointed out how the same protest photo gets recycled for different cities every year. @lewis.troy he said the story might be true but if you're using the wrong evidence people will just dismiss the whole thing. Made Stan delete like five posts right there on his phone.
