Hit 50 shared posts flagged as fake in my feed last month

I started keeping track after a buddy sent me a wild video about solar panels causing cancer. That one was easy to debunk with a quick search. But the number that got me was 50. Fifty fake stories crossed my feed in just 30 days. Most were political fear stuff or miracle cures, things people share without checking. It really showed me how fast garbage spreads online if you don't pause. Has anyone else tried counting how many hoaxes they see in a week?

12 of my aunt's shares in a single week, that sounds about right for the family group chat. I guess we should be grateful our relatives are sharing fake news instead of those chain letter curses from the early 2000s. At least back then the threats were just about bad luck, not about convincing you to buy essential oils for your car's check engine light.

I counted 12 fake posts in one week just from my aunt's shares.

I saw a study saying people spot 5 fake stories a day now.
