My attempt at a backflip on a trampoline ended with me landing on my neighbor's cat

Last weekend I went to this backyard party in Fresno and they had a big trampoline. I told everyone I could do a backflip no problem after a few drinks. I jumped way too high, spun sideways, and came crashing down right next to their orange tabby. The cat freaked out and scratched my arm on the way out. The whole thing got filmed and now my buddies send it to me every day. Has anyone else hurt themselves showing off at a party?

Dude I totally feel you. Last summer at a cookout in Modesto I tried to show off by jumping over a cooler and landed right on my buddy's Beagle. The dog yelped and I rolled my ankle on the cooler and limped for a week. Still get tagged in the video every time someone's bored. At least your cat story sounds like a good one for the group chat.

Honestly, did the video catch the cat's reaction or just your fall? I feel like the cat's side-eye or sprint away would make the whole thing even funnier to rewatch. Tbh I'm more curious if the cat's owner was cool about it or if you got read the riot act about their precious tabby's trauma. Ngl I respect the commitment to the trick after a few drinks, that's a bold move. But landing on a cat is rough, especially since that claw scratch is probably your real souvenir from that party.
