Learned a lesson about camera placement at a skate park last Sunday

This kid tried to ollie a 3-stair and completely ate it right in front of my buddy's GoPro. His board flew up and smacked the camera off the rail, broke the mount. He just looked at us and said 'well, at least I got it on film.' Anyone else ever had equipment destroyed by a fail?

Oh come on, "at least I got it on film"? That's a cop out. The kid broke your mount and then just shrugged it off like it's some victory. Getting the "fail" on camera doesn't make up for trashing someone else's gear. That's just selfish. You don't get to ruin a $50 mount and call it a win because you recorded yourself eating pavement. If he really cared about the clip, he'd offer to replace the mount first.

You know what, I used to be all about "at least you got the footage" too. I thought the internet points made up for the broken stuff. But then my nephew borrowed my good phone mount for his skateboard and snapped the plastic clip clean off. He posted the video and got all these likes, but I was just stuck with a busted mount and the hassle of finding a replacement. Definitely changed my view on this whole thing. A viral clip doesn't fix gear you wrecked, and being accountable means paying for the damage, not just laughing it off.

Nah that's just how people are now, zero accountability for anything.
