Vent: That one month my YouTube thumbnails went from 4% click rate to 12% and I still have no clue why

Back in March I was getting around 4% click rate for like six weeks straight. I was just doing my usual thing, bright colors, big text, the same format. Then around the second week of April it jumped to 12% out of nowhere. I changed nothing, same camera, same lighting, same editing style. Has anyone else had their analytics just randomly spike like that without changing anything?

Read somewhere the algorithm just decides to push certain creators randomly sometimes.

Yeah haven't you noticed how some creators just blow up overnight with no reason? My buddy had a video sitting at 200 views for two weeks and then suddenly it hit 50k without him changing anything. So @grant_allen85 might be onto something about the algorithm just testing random stuff sometimes.

@mila_flores8 said something interesting because I used to think the algorithm was this predictable machine, but now I'm not so sure. Back when my videos were stuck at 4% for months I thought it was all about my thumbnails, but then mine jumped to 9% one week and I had literally just uploaded the same style. At this point I think the algorithm just randomly decides to boost certain videos to test audiences, and if they click hard enough it keeps pushing them.
