That $12 eyebrow mapping stencil I bought off Instagram lasted exactly one use

I saw this viral video of a girl getting perfect symmetrical brows in 30 seconds with this plastic stencil thing. Ordered it right away for $12 plus shipping, felt like a genius. First try, it slid around on my face and the powder went everywhere under the stencil, looked like a toddler drew on me. Second try I held it super tight and it actually worked okay but then the plastic cracked right down the middle. Learned that those perfectly curated videos are showing you the best possible outcome, not the reality of using it yourself. Has anyone else bought something from an Instagram ad that just totally flopped?

Twelve bucks for a piece of plastic that cracks after one use. Sounds about right. Instagram ads are just slick editing and perfect lighting. Probably made in the same factory as those cheap Halloween costume masks.

and it's not just this stuff, it's everything now. i swear half the "brands" on social media are just drop-shipping the same junk from alibaba with a different logo slapped on. feels like we're all just paying for the privilege of being beta testers for garbage that breaks before you even get to use it properly.
