Rant: I thought BeReal was just another silly app for kids
My niece in Chicago made me download it last fall, and I figured it would be dead in a month. But the 'one random notification a day' thing actually got me to post real stuff, not just highlights. Now I check it more than Instagram. Is this app actually going to stick around, or is it just waiting to crash?

Honestly, the real test is the ads. My feed is still clean, no sponsors. That's the magic. Once they try to make real money, the whole "real" thing falls apart. They'll have to sell our attention like everyone else. The second I see a targeted ad between my friend's boring lunch and my cousin's messy car, I'm out. It becomes just another feed to manage.
