My friend told me to ignore the whole 'Threads' launch back in July

She said it was just Twitter's ghost and would be gone in six months. Well, it's been over a year now and it's still my main spot for quick text posts. I guess some things just find their people and stick around, even if they feel like a copy at first. Anyone else have a platform they wrote off that ended up sticking?

Wasn't Threads launched in July 2023? That's barely a year.

Wow, feels like it's been way longer than a year for sure! @diana20 is right on the date, but it really carved out its own space. What made you give it a real try after your friend said to ignore it?
