Finally admitted my $30 savings on bulk rice was a lie

For months I was buying those giant 25lb bags of jasmine rice from the Asian market on Clement Street thinking I was so smart. Thought I was beating the system by saving $2 per pound compared to the regular grocery store. Then last week I actually weighed out how much I use per month and did the math on how much I toss because it goes stale before I finish it. The savings vanish when you throw away 4 pounds of rice every 6 weeks because it gets that weird dusty smell. Turns out the smaller 5lb bags from Safeway put me ahead about $11 a year after accounting for waste. Has anyone else done the actual math on a bulk buy and realized it didn't work out?

Bro I did the same thing last week paid $9 for a bag of rice they sell for $6 at 99 Ranch.
