TIL wasting $600 on a tune that did nothing
Honestly I blew $600 on a canned tuner from a big name brand last month. Hooked it up, flashed the ECU, and my 2018 5.0 felt exactly the same. No extra torque, no shifting change, nothing. I finally took it to a local dyno shop in Austin and the guy showed me the air/fuel ratio was still stock. He ran three pulls and proved the tune wasn't even loading properly. Has anyone else wasted money on a tuner that just didn't do the job?

Tune wasn't even loading properly" - that's rough but honestly it's like half the stuff we buy now. Got a "smart" thermostat that still lets my AC run at noon in Texas summer. It's the same pattern everywhere. Companies sell you the box and hope you never check if it actually works. People trust the name on the sticker more than their own gut.

Had a buddy who bought one of those wifi pressure cookers and it wouldn't even connect to his phone, just sat there blinking red like some kinda sad robot.

Same vibe as my buddy's smart kettle that just hummed ominously instead of boiling water lol.
