Finally picked between a tuner and a pedal commander for my 5.0
Went with the SCT tuner over the pedal commander after a buddy said the commander just fakes throttle response. Ran a canned tune and it actually woke the truck up, but I'm curious if custom tunes are worth the extra $400.

400 bucks for a custom tune on a 5.0 is like paying someone to tell you your truck is fast when you already know it is. I ran the canned tune from my SCT for about 3 months before I caved and got a custom one. The only real difference was it smoothed out the shifting and got rid of that weird hesitation at low RPMs. Your wallet is gonna hate you but the truck won't.

Used to think custom tunes were just a waste of money but you might have just changed my mind... that low RPM hesitation drives me nuts on my canned tune.
