Cold air intake vs stock box on a 5.0 - wish I'd listened sooner

I spent 3 months going back and forth between a Roush cold air intake and keeping the factory airbox on my '18 F150 5.0. Ended up going with the Roush because everyone online said it was a must-have mod, but after 2 weeks I'm getting more intake noise and no real power gain. Did anyone else regret swapping out their stock airbox for a name brand intake?

Yeah I fell for that trap too" is exactly what happened to my buddy Mark with his Mustang GT. He spent almost $400 on an Airaid intake and all it did was make his engine bay look slightly fancier while the intake temps actually went up sitting in traffic. He swapped back to the stock box after a month and admitted the truck ran smoother without it.

Ha yeah I fell for that trap too. My buddy talked me into throwing a cold air intake on my old Civic and all it did was make it sound louder and actually lose a bit of low end torque. I checked the dyno numbers later and realized I basically paid $300 for a noise maker that made the car slower in daily driving. Had to put the stock box back on just to get the throttle response back where it was. It's crazy how much marketing hype there is around these parts.
