Cold air intake didn't help much on my '18 3.5L

I put an AFE intake on my 2018 3.5L last year and honestly, I didn't feel any real power gain. I was cruising up I-35 near Round Rock and tried to pass a truck, felt kind of flat. Ended up taking it off and putting the stock box back, truck actually felt better for daily driving. Anybody else see better results with a different brand or setup?

You're overthinking it, @king.wyatt's buddy had the same thing happen to him.

My buddy put a K&N on his 2018 same truck and swore it felt worse on the highway, got that annoying sucking noise with zero low end pull. He pulled it after a month and went back to the stock box with a fresh filter, said the throttle response actually came back. I just stick with the stock intake and a good fuel system cleaner now, seems like these trucks just don't like aftermarket intakes.

My buddy spent $350 on a K&N for his 2016 Silverado, swore it was gonna add 20 horsepower. Ended up with a truck that sounded like a vacuum cleaner with a marble stuck in it and maybe gained 2 miles per gallon on a good day. He drove around with it for two months convincing himself it was working before he finally admitted defeat and threw the stock box back in. Now that stock filter is sitting in his garage next to a dusty set of Flowmasters he also regrets buying. Honestly sometimes the best upgrade is just admitting the truck was fine the way it was.
