A guy at the gas station in Phoenix told me my cold air intake was just for noise
I was filling up my 2018 5.0 last month and he walked over, pointed under my hood, and said 'You know that thing just sucks in hot engine air, right? It's a $400 noise maker.' He was driving an older truck with a stock setup. It stuck with me because I did feel a small power bump after the install, but maybe he had a point about under-hood temps. Has anyone done real testing on this, or was he just talking?

And that samjohnson dude's probably right too, same thing happened with mine. Honestly I think he was onto something but it's not like most of us are racing our trucks, you feel me? The sound alone makes me feel faster when I'm just cruising to Home Depot so maybe that's worth the money.
