The one critique that finally got me to stop overcomplicating my pipe layouts

About 6 months back I posted a photo of a manifold I did in a basement in Cleveland. Some guy commented that I was using way too many fittings and making it look like a maze just for the sake of looking clean. I brushed it off at first but then he said 'you're adding 3 extra joints that could leak down the road just to make it pretty'. That stuck with me. Now I run my lines as direct as possible even if they look a bit ugly. Has anyone else gotten a piece of feedback that totally changed how you approach a basic thing?

_Three extra joints really that big of a deal in a basement?

You're basically building a jungle gym down there with those extra connections lol.

Kept it simple when I did mine. Ran separate conduit for my audio gear and then just used a standard power strip for the lights and occasional power tool. Never had a ground loop or tripped a breaker. Sometimes overcomplicating things just makes more headaches down the road.
