The 'Distracted BF' meme but everyone uses the wrong guy as the boyfriend

I keep seeing the distracted boyfriend meme where people swap in random guys for the boyfriend, but they always pick the one looking at the other woman. The whole joke is the guy is supposed to be the one distracted, not the woman. Why does everyone get this basic part wrong? Am I missing a version where it flipped, or are people just lazy with the template?

Figure out what your actual goal is first. If you're trying to keep the peace, yeah, maybe let it slide. But if this is a pattern where someone keeps pushing your buttons and you're always the one backing down, then no, it is that serious. I've had to learn the hard way that letting stuff go too many times just teaches people they can walk all over you. Pick your battles sure, but don't just fold every time.
