Serious question, I saw a meme about a guy crying in front of a green screen and everyone says it's about 'sigma male' culture, but I think they're completely missing the original joke from that 2014 gaming stream.
I was at a local comic con panel about meme origins last month, and the speaker showed the unedited clip where the guy was actually crying from laughter after a game glitch, not from some fake macho philosophy.

Yeah that comic con panel sounds right. The original clip got twisted so much online. People just slap "sigma" on any old video now to make it fit their weird internet arguments. The real context is always way more simple and human.

Honestly, does it even matter at this point? The meme has its own life now, separate from that old stream. People will use it to mean whatever they want online, and getting worked up about the "real" story feels like trying to put smoke back in a bottle. It's just a silly video.
