Question about that 'distracted boyfriend' meme template
Saw the original stock photo last week and realized the girl in the red dress is actually the girlfriend, not the side chick. Mind kind of blown. Anyone else look up the source after years of just seeing the cropped version?

Photographer Joel Grimes did a whole series on that. I went down that rabbit hole for two hours once and found out half the meme templates I use daily are totally different in the original.

Right, that series is wild once you start digging into it. Makes you realize how much of internet culture is just recycled and stripped of context. The original images are almost always way more interesting than the meme versions.
