My cousin called me out on using 'literally' wrong for years
I was over at my cousin's place last weekend and she straight up said 'you know you use literally wrong all the time right?' I thought I was using it for emphasis but she pulled up a bunch of my old texts where I said stuff like 'I literally died laughing' or 'that meme literally broke my brain'. She explained literally only works when something actually happened not just for exaggeration. Now I'm seeing it everywhere online and it's bugging me. Has anyone else had a friend call out a word you were totally misusing?

Five years ago my old roommate called me out for saying "I could care less" instead of "I couldn't care less." It was so embarrassing because I'd been saying it that way my whole life (and in job interviews too, yikes). Did your cousin actually show you the receipts or did she just throw it out there in conversation? Because mine had a whole folder of screenshots saved on her phone, which felt like a targeted attack tbh.

A folder of screenshots is wild, that's next level preparation right there. You could have just let her have the win and moved on, but now she's got physical evidence of your mistake. At least your roommate didn't make a PowerPoint presentation about it.
