Just realized I was using 'crop dusting' wrong for like 2 years
I kept seeing people post those "crop dusting" memes where someone walks through a room and lets one rip silently. So i thought that was the whole joke. Then last week my buddy sent me a meme about crop dusting at a Walmart and i replied with a fart joke. He goes "bro crop dusting is when you walk past someone and pretend you're gonna hit them but don't, it's a fighting thing from boxing." Looked it up and yeah he's right. How did I miss that for so long? Has anyone else totally misunderstood a meme for way longer than they wanna admit?

Honestly I think the boxing thing is only half right too. I grew up around farms and crop dusting is literally what farmers do with small planes to spray pesticides. So when the meme first started popping up I thought it was some inside joke about pilots flying low over fields. Then people started using it for farts and I was like okay I guess that makes more sense in a disgusting way. But now you're telling me there's a third definition from boxing? This is getting ridiculous honestly. Pretty sure at this point people just use it however they want and nobody really knows the real origin anymore.

Three definitions? That's just maddening. I remember when words had one meaning and you could look it up in a dictionary without getting a headache. Now you've got farmers, boxers, and people with gas all fighting over the same phrase.
