Friend told me to 'just post memes at 2am' for better reach, so I tried it

I ran a split test on my page in Houston last month where I posted the same type of content at 2am vs noon, and the 2am posts actually got triple the engagement. But now I'm stuck wondering if that's just because less competition or if the late night crowd clicks more - anyone else test weird timing tricks like that?

I ran a similar test on my pet supply page last year and the 2am posts got way more clicks but also a bunch of weird comments from people who clearly had been drinking. One guy tried to convince me that dogs secretly run the government and my post about chew toys was part of the conspiracy. The noon crowd just asked normal stuff like what brand of leash I recommend. So you might get more engagement at 2am but be ready for some strange conversations.

Hang on, did you track what time zone your audience is actually in? I'm wondering if your Houston page just has a lot of night owls or people on different schedules. The 2am thing might work for you specifically if your followers are shift workers or students who are up late anyway. Did you check your page insights to see if that's the case or just went on the raw engagement numbers?
