That esthetician who told me to skip hydrafacials on sensitive skin was completely right

I did one on a client with rosacea anyways last Tuesday and she broke out in red welts that took 3 days to fade, has anyone else seen this reaction with sensitive types?

Girl that welts story is wild, I've seen similar on rosacea clients with high pressure facials. The hydrafacial's suction and active ingredients just nuke their barrier every time. Have you tried just a gentle enzyme and soothing mask instead?

I mean idk, isn't the suction kind of the whole point though? Maybe it's just me but a lot of my clients with rosacea actually do fine with hydrafacials if you keep the pressure low and use the right serum. The gentle enzyme route never seems to do enough for their texture, they end up wanting more.

The "nuke their barrier" part got me, haha. I’ve definitely been there. I have rosacea myself and my skin is basically a drama queen that HATES me for no reason. I swear even a gentle breeze wrong could set it off sometimes. So I get why people are scared of the suction, but honestly I feel like the "point" is just a fancy word for "please don't make me angry". I’ve tried the gentle enzyme route and it just left me feeling like I wasted money and still looked like a tomato. Maybe I’m the weirdo here, but I’d rather risk a little redness for actual results than just feel like I got a fancy nap.
