Rant: That expensive LED mask I bought was a total waste of cash

Honestly, I dropped $400 on one of those popular LED light therapy masks last spring. Used it every morning for 6 weeks like the instructions said, hoping it would help with my acne scarring. All I got was a weird tan line around my eyes and zero change in my skin texture. Anyone else feel like these things are just a gimmick for estheticians to upsell clients?

Totally agree with you on this one. I tried a $350 red light panel from some Instagram brand and saw absolutely nothing after two months. My girlfriend said my face looked slightly flushed for an hour after each session, but that was it. Felt like I was just sitting there looking dumb with a glowing contraption strapped to my head. Are we just falling for the same scams our parents did with those vibrating exercise belts?

Is it possible @ben_ross51 that the cheaper panels just don't have the right wavelengths or power output to actually do anything? I've been looking into this for a while and the studies that show benefits usually use medical-grade devices that cost thousands, not the consumer stuff. Your mileage may vary, but I'm not convinced the tech itself is a total scam, just that the affordable options might be a waste of money.
