Noticed a lot of estheticians skipping the patch test before lash lifts
I had a client come in last Tuesday from Oak Park who said her previous esthetician never did a patch test. She ended up with red, swollen lids for two days after that service. I always do a 24 hour patch test behind the ear before any chemical lash service. Has anyone else run into clients who didn't get tested beforehand?

Ran into this exact thing last week with a new client. She told me her old place just slathered on the glue and lifted her lashes without so much as asking about allergies. Her eyes were still irritated three days later when I saw her. I do a patch test behind the ear for every single lash lift client too and I won't skip it no matter what. It drives me crazy that some estheticians treat it like an optional step when it can literally save someone from a bad reaction.

Three days? That's rough. I had a client last week tell me her previous lash lady used super glue basically and I was like... ma'am that's not even cosmetic grade. @morganhill you're doing the lord's work with those patch tests. I once forgot to do one and my client's eye swelled up like I'd punched her. Never again.
