My steamer's heating element gave out right before a full facial booking

It happened last Friday morning, just as my first client was walking in for a 90-minute hydrafacial. I had to quickly switch gears and use warm, damp towels for the steam step, which actually worked out fine. The client even said she liked how gentle it felt. Has anyone else had a steamer fail and found a good backup method?

What if you paired @the_holly's kettle idea with a thermos to keep towels hot?

Oh man, that "right before a full facial booking" timing is the absolute worst. Total panic moment. I've seen a few esthetician friends have that happen, and the warm towel trick is honestly a classic save. One of them even keeps a little electric kettle in her room now just to heat water fast for towels. It's cool that your client liked the gentler feel, sometimes the simple stuff works best.

But @the_holly, isn't that warm towel trick just a messy, old-school band-aid for poor planning?
