My mentor insisted I stop using hot towels for rosacea clients
She said the heat could worsen inflammation, and switching to cool compresses made a huge difference. One client's redness visibly calmed after just two treatments. Has anyone else found cool therapy works better for sensitive skin conditions?

Can't speak for clients, but my own face gets mad if I even look at a hot towel. Cool stuff just feels right for angry skin, you know?

Read somewhere that cold helps shrink those angry little blood vessels.

Is your skin really that angry though? It's just skin doing its thing, not a personal attack. A cool towel feels nice but calling it angry seems like a stretch.

Totally get that. My sister has rosacea and even a warm room can set it off. Seeing her skin go from blotchy to calm after holding a cold soda can against her cheek was a real eye-opener. Heat just seems to trap the redness in. Cool things, even just splashing with cold water, really does the trick to settle it down fast.
