I was still using the old school steam towels until a class in Scottsdale
For years I thought a hot towel was just a hot towel, you know? Then at a workshop in Scottsdale last fall, the instructor pointed out how much product it was wiping away before the mask could even work. I switched to using a warm mist steamer for 90 seconds instead, and my extractions got way easier. Anyone else make that switch and notice a difference in hydration levels after the facial?

My friend Sarah had the same towel issue, it was wiping off her expensive serum. She got a little handheld steamer for her home routine, runs it for about two minutes. Her skin feels plumper now, she says it doesn't get that tight, dry feeling after a clay mask anymore.

Steamers are a game changer for opening up pores before masks. Sarah's right about the tight feeling going away, it's because the steam helps the clay pull out gunk without sucking all the moisture from your skin. My dermatologist friend says just be careful not to hold it too close or for too long, you can irritate your skin. A couple minutes is perfect.

and honestly, @troy832 your friend Sarah is living in 3024 with that handheld steamer idea. I tried the towel method once and nearly boiled my face off, plus it cooled down in like 30 seconds. Total waste of time. The steamer is a game changer for sure, just don't be like me and zone out watching Netflix while holding it five inches from your nose for ten minutes. My face looked like a tomato and my girlfriend laughed at me for three days straight.
