Had a client last week who insisted on a full-face wax right before her vacation
I'm at a small studio in Portland and this woman came in asking for a brow, lip, and full-face wax 2 days before her trip to Hawaii. I warned her about the redness and potential breakouts but she didn't care and said she always does it. How do you guys handle clients who ignore your professional advice on timing?

Used to think clients always knew their own skin best. This one came back the next day with angry red bumps all over her cheeks for her flight. Now I'm way more firm about pushing back on bad timing even when they insist.

2 days before a flight to Hawaii though? That's asking for trouble. I'd have straight up told her no and refunded or rescheduled.

Oh man, this is such a hard spot to be in! I totally get what @ellis.mia is saying about learning the hard way. For me, I've started framing it as "hey, I can do this for you, but I need you to sign a little waiver acknowledging we talked about the risk" because some people just won't listen no matter what. It covers your butt but also makes them stop and think twice when they see the reality written down. They usually back off real quick when they have to put their signature on it.
