Facials vs peels for acne clients what are you leaning towards more
I had a client last week with mild acne and I went back and forth between doing a high frequency facial and a mild peel. I ended up going with the facial and she broke out worse for two days has anyone else seen that happen with one over the other?

Wow honestly sounds like a normal purge, not that big a deal.

Five thousand accounts in one day isn't a normal purge though.

Yeah I read somewhere that high frequency can actually STIR things up before they settle down for some people, especially if the acne is more on the hormonal side. I've heard the same thing from a couple estheticians I follow online - they said the heat and oxygen can make existing bacteria go into overdrive before killing it off. A mild peel might be safer for that initial treatment because it dries up the surface stuff faster without agitating the deeper layers. That two day breakout you saw is PRETTY common from what I've gathered, so I wouldn't blame yourself for picking the facial over the peel. Next time I'd probably just go straight for a low strength salicylic acid peel and see how that goes before bringing out the high frequency.
