Am I the only one who thinks the 'no extractions' trend is a bad idea?
At a big skin care conference in Orlando last year, a speaker said we should never do manual extractions on clients. I had a client with deep, painful blackheads that a chemical peel alone wouldn't touch, and a careful extraction gave her real relief. When did hands-on work become a dirty word in our field?

Honestly, used to agree until I saw a client get worse from waiting.

Remember when we used to just call that "getting a zit popped"? Look, if a client has a deep, painful blackhead, a chemical peel is like trying to clean your garage by just staring at it. Sometimes you need to actually pick up a tool and move stuff. This trend feels like throwing the baby out with the bathwater because some people do extractions badly.

But what about the people who end up with scars from bad extractions? Isn't that worse than waiting a bit longer for a peel to work? Where do you draw the line between a needed tool and causing more harm?
