That cheap brake shoe deal cost me 6 hours on site
Grabbed a bulk pack of brake shoes from that online discount place last month. Saved $40 upfront but they were warped right out of the box on three of them. Had to pull them all off and redo the job on a Otis R212 at a office building in Cleveland. Anyone else run into bad batches from those budget suppliers?

Man I USED to swear by those discount parts but after a similar situation I completely changed my mind. I grabbed a cheap set for a Miconic 10 and had to tear it all apart twice because the lining was coming off. Saved $30 but lost a whole Saturday fixing it and that's just not worth it.

Dude yes, same exact thing happened to me with a Otis lift last year (well, half the year actually). I thought I was being smart and saved like $40 on a door operator belt and ended up spending the next two weekends swapping it out and then tearing it apart again because the damn thing started slipping. The OEM part just snapped right in and has been running smooth ever since. It's one of those lessons you have to learn the hard way, I guess.
