Showerthought: I hit 500 elevator door adjustments before my 30th birthday.
It happened last Tuesday on a KONE job in Phoenix, and it really made me think about how much of our work is just getting those doors to run smooth. Do you guys keep track of any numbers like that, or am I just weird?

Counting door adjustments feels like the wrong metric to me. That number just tells you how many times something was wrong. I'd rather track how many doors I got perfect on the first try, or how long they run without a callback. The goal is to not have to adjust them at all, you know?

My old foreman tracked callbacks per installer. If your doors came back, you heard about it. That focus changed how we set hinges. We'd check the reveal three times before calling it done. The goal shifted from finishing fast to making sure it stayed finished.
