Rewiring my building's old elevator showed me how controls evolved
Back when I started, relay logic was the norm for elevator operations. Now, with microprocessors, the control panel is about half the size and way more efficient. I spent a weekend tracing every wire in the shaft, and the new setup just plugs in with fewer connections. It's definitely an upgrade, but I kinda miss the solid clunk of those old relays when they engaged.

My last attempt to rewire a lamp looked like a toddler's finger painting. I'd kill for that solid clunk to signal I did something right.

That clunk sound is basically adult legos.
