Hit 5000 hours on my main service wrench this morning.
I was logging my time on a call in a downtown office building, and the app just popped up with the number. I mean, I knew I used that wrench a lot, but seeing that exact figure made me stop and think about all the doors, motors, and brakes it's touched. It's not just a tool anymore, it's like a record of the job. Anyone else have a piece of gear that's clocked a crazy amount of time with them?

Nah. Engraving feels like jinxing it to me. That wrench is a tool, not a trophy. 5000 hours just means it still works, not that it's done anything special. Tools that get gilded end up on a wall, not in your hand. Let it earn the next 5000 in the dark under a panel.

Man, that's a solid run. You ever think about getting it engraved with that number? Like a little trophy for the tool that did the work.
