Can we talk about how I used to grease guide rails with a brush vs now with a pump gun?

Back in 2018 I was still using a hand brush on every job in Austin, but after a 3-hour slowdown on a 20-floor install I switched to a pneumatic pump gun. Has anyone else found the pump gun gives way more consistent coverage or is it just me?

Man, that brush method was the absolute worst for my wrists. Pump gun all the way once you make the switch.

Wait, what brush method exactly are we talking about here? The whole thing where you swirl the tip around inside the pod? Because that's the one that wrecked my wrists too, I thought it was just me getting old. Did you ever try the twist and tap trick instead, or did you just skip straight to the pump gun? I'm curious if there's any middle ground that actually works before committing to a whole new system.
