That capacitor swap that fixed a 15 year old monitor's ghosting issues

I had this old Dell 2001FP sitting in my shop for years with terrible ghosting on dark scenes. Swapped out three bulging 1000uF caps near the power supply on a whim last Saturday. After powering it back up the text was crisp and the motion blur was GONE. Has anyone else fixed ghosting with just a simple capacitor replacement?

aint that the truth. there's something really satisfying about seeing a monitor from the 90s or early 2000s flicker back to life after just a few new caps. i had an old dell trinitron that looked like it was done for, but a quick recap job and it's been running strong for months now. feels like we're keeping a little piece of history alive, you know? these old crts have so much character.
