Hit 500 board repairs last month without tracking it

Been doing console and phone board work for about 4 years now. Last month I passed 500 repairs without even noticing the milestone. Anyone else lose count after a while or do you keep a strict log?

You gotta track it, man. 500 repairs is a huge number, but without numbers you're just guessing at what's working and what's not. How do you know which board types fail most often? How do you know if your success rate is actually going up or if you're just getting faster at making the same mistakes? I keep a spreadsheet with every single repair, what the issue was, how long it took, and whether it worked or came back. That data is gold when you're deciding what gear to buy next or what skills to focus on. Flying blind like that is just asking to hit a wall later when you can't figure out why your success rate dropped.

Wait, you actually keep a spreadsheet for every single repair? That's like... next level dedication man. I mean I get why you do it but I can barely remember to write down what I had for breakfast half the time. 500 repairs is a lot but I've probably done close to that over the years and I just go by feel and memory. Maybe that's why I keep making the same stupid mistakes with certain power supplies now that I think about it...
