Found out solder fumes can mess with your lungs long term

I was reading through some old trade journals from 2019 I found at a surplus store in Denver. One study said rosin core solder smoke has chemicals that build up in your system over 10-15 years. I always just used a fan on my bench but now I'm looking at those fume extractors. Anyone else use a serious respirator or just a basic setup?

Bought a cheap 3M respirator with the pink pancake filters after reading that same study and honestly it paid for itself in peace of mind... the fan just moves the smoke around your shop not really out of your lungs. I wore it for about a week straight until I got used to it now I don't even notice it on. The filters last forever if you keep them in a ziplock bag when you're done using them.
