Found a weird fix for a flickering screen on a 2019 MacBook Pro
The backlight was pulsing on a unit that had a clean flex cable and no liquid damage. On a hunch, I swapped the thermal paste on the CPU with some Arctic MX-4 I had left over from a PC build. The flickering stopped completely after it cooled down and I put it back together. Has anyone else seen a thermal issue cause a backlight to act up like that?

My old laptop had a loose ribbon cable that caused weird color shifts. I fixed it by wedging a folded piece of paper in there for pressure. It's wild how often the real fix is just making two parts touch that stopped touching. What's the weirdest hardware hack you've had to do?
