Swore by Wago connectors for years till a push-in terminal melted on a 20 amp circuit in Phoenix last July.
The Wago held fine when I tested it after, but the heat had already deformed the housing just enough to make me nervous. Anybody else had a favorite connector let them down in a specific situation?

Same thing happened to me but with a cheap timer switch in a shed. Melted the backplate just enough that the screws wouldn't thread back in straight. Ended up switching to a mechanical timer with pigtails and no issues since.

Yeah I had a similar thing happen with a Leviton push-in on a pool pump timer. It got warm enough to discolor the plastic but still worked. I swapped it for a screw terminal and never looked back.
