Found a rat's nest of extension cords in a basement from 2019, then saw it again this month.

Got called back to the same house in Akron for a panel upgrade. The owner had a whole workshop down there powered by a single 15 amp circuit, just a spider web of cords. I told him it was a fire waiting to happen. Came back four years later and he had a proper sub-panel run with eight dedicated outlets, all labeled. Said his home insurance guy saw my old photo and nearly had a heart attack. Anyone else had a client actually listen to your safety warning like that?

Take a picture and show them, it makes the danger real.

How often does that actually happen? Most of the time people just nod and ignore you... it's so frustrating. Seeing a photo scared him straight, which is kinda sad but at least it worked. Good on you for making him see it, even if it took a scare from his insurance. That's a real win for safety.
