That $500 bathroom floor tile job I tried to DIY

Last month I decided to retile my half bathroom in my house on 118 Avenue and thought I had it all figured out after watching a few videos. Three days later the grout cracked and two tiles popped loose because I forgot to level the subfloor properly before starting. Has anyone else here learned the hard way that skipping prep work just doubles your costs in the end?

Yeah that's rough but it's just a half bathroom right?

A half bathroom or not, when the toilet goes it's a mess no matter what. We had ours back up once and it flooded into the hallway, water everywhere. The cleanup and fixing the floor took way longer than I expected. So yeah, just a half bath but still a whole headache.
