Swapped out my old fiberglass insulation for rockwool in the attic last month...
The difference in sound dampening between the upstairs and main floor is night and day, and I didn't even realize how much road noise was coming through the roof until it was gone. Anyone else made the switch and noticed a big change?

My neighbor put rockwool in his attic two years ago and honestly I didn't notice any difference when I was over there. The road outside his house still sounded just as loud to me. Maybe you're just paying more attention now because you spent money on it.

Laughing at @henrycooper for thinking rockwool is some magic sound eraser (spoiler: it's for heat, not making the neighbor's leaf blower disappear). Two years later and he's still waiting for that pin-drop silence, huh?
