Stop sealing your grout. I stopped doing it last June.
Had a client complain about efflorescence on their new backsplash in Sherwood Park. I told them to quit sealing it and just use a good microfiber mop. Six months later, no white fuzz and the grout still looks fresh. Anyone else ditch the sealer?

...my buddy Dave in Leduc tried the same thing, stopped sealing his bathroom grout about a year ago after he got sick of that white haze. He's a pretty meticulous guy, so I was skeptical, but last time I was over his place the grout in the shower looked way better than mine, no joke. He just wipes it down with a squeegee after every shower and hits it with the microfiber mop once a week. I'm still a bit nervous to try it on my kitchen floor where stuff gets dropped, but for walls I might just give it a shot.

@dylanmurray tell Dave he's living the dream, honestly. I swear half the battle with grout is just not being lazy with the squeegee. People think sealing is magic but it's really just putting a bandaid on bad habits. Kitchen floors are a whole different beast though, all bets are off when you're splashing tomato sauce and dropping eggs every morning.
