The day I stopped using a plumb bob for fence posts
I used to line up fence posts with a string and plumb bob for hours (you know, the old-school way), but last spring I borrowed a laser level from a buddy and got a 40-foot row perfectly straight in 20 minutes. Turns out my neighbor's fence that I always admired was done with a laser too, not some magic touch. Anyone else switch from a manual tool to something digital and wonder why they waited so long?

Swapped my hand plane for a powered one last month and felt like an idiot for not doing it sooner.

Start noticing how many things we do just because "that's how it's always been done" and not because it's actually the best way. Sometimes the old ways are just stubbornness dressed up as craftsmanship.

Old ways are just stubbornness dressed up as craftsmanship" - that's a good one @the_thomas. I spent three hours restoring a vintage drill press once only to realize my cordless one did the same job in ten minutes.
