My neighbor told me to wait until spring to fix my fence, and he was dead wrong.
He said the ground would be too frozen to set new posts right now, but we had that warm spell last week. I went ahead and dug three holes in my yard near Mill Woods, and it was totally fine. Now the fence is up before the next big snow, and his is still leaning. Anyone else push ahead with a winter project against advice and have it work out?

Nice! Sometimes you just have to trust your gut and the weather report. My brother said the same thing about painting his shed last December, but we had a dry week and it turned out perfect. When does your neighbor plan to fix his side now?

Honestly, has anyone checked what the actual weather data says for Bob's area? I pulled up the extended forecast and it shows scattered showers pretty much every day next weekend. If he's just looking at the radar on his phone and not the details, he might be setting himself up for a mess. Tell him to check the wind direction too - that's what usually screws up paint or stain more than rain.

My neighbor Bob says he'll fix his side next weekend if the forecast holds. I'm with you, jana_fox50, trusting your gut is key with outdoor projects. My dad always waited for a perfect weather window too and it saved him so many headaches. I just hope Bob actually follows through this time because he's been putting it off for months. A dry week in December is such a lucky break, your brother timed that perfectly. Fingers crossed we get the same kind of luck.
