My skepticism about spray foam insulation backfired bad

I had a crew quote me $2,800 to seal my garage attic in Edmonton last month and I thought they were padding the numbers. After three weeks of battling ice dams and frozen pipes I caved and let them do it. Anyone else here get burned by hesitating on insulation work?

Paid $3k after my own delay caused a burst pipe and a nightmare cleanup.

Honestly @ray363 I used to blow off maintenance too but that 3k bill changed my whole view real fast.

My buddy Frank let a small drip in his kitchen sink go for three months. Ended up with mold behind the whole cabinet, had to rip out drywall and everything. Cost him way more than if he'd just called a plumber right when he heard it.
